KDSP Presents at the 36th Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability & Diversity

KDSP presented its research paper, ‘The Virtual Shift: Early Childhood Intervention Therapies for Pakistani Children with Down Syndrome During COVID-19,’ at the 36th Annual Pacific Rim International Conference On Disability & Diversity, hosted by Center on Disability Studies (CDS), College of Education, University of Hawaii at Manoa from March 1-2, 2021.

Through this avenue, KDSP enhanced its own practices and worked on developing more efficient, sustainable models of services to benefit individuals with Down syndrome, while putting the disability sector of Pakistan more visibly on the map. The research presented in the conference provided an understanding to the international community of essential early childhood development and intervention strategies for children with Down syndrome. Further emphasizing the effects of a COVID-19 imposed lockdown on early childhood intervention strategies, the innovations that resulted and areas of learning that arose in practice, for children with Down syndrome.
