FAMILY
Support Group

The longest running program at KDSP, the Family Support Group (FSG) sessions are held monthly to bring together parents and families of people with Down syndrome. These sessions usually aim to educate parents on various aspects of Down syndrome such as medical issues to look out for, best therapy-related strategies for their child with Down syndrome, stress management for the whole family, etc. The sessions are usually conducted by an expert in the relevant field and is followed by a very interactive and fruitful Q&A session. The sessions also provide an avenue for parents to exchange ideas and useful tips, besides being able to guide and motivate each other for the journey ahead. The session is held on Saturdays so that it is convenient for all members of the family to attend. KDSP provides baby-sitting services for young children for the duration of the session so that parents can participate with ease
